Denounce Israel’s Attack on Iran!

On June 13, Israel suddenly launched a large-scale airstrike across various locations in Iran. Iran responded by declaring it tantamount to a “declaration of war” and retaliated by launching over 100 drones. Military clashes between the two countries have since continued, raising the risk of a large-scale war.

A Self-Serving Excuse of “Self-Defense”

Israel’s attack extended to six cities, including the capital Tehran. More than 100 targets were hit, including the nuclear facility in Natanz, a uranium enrichment site, and ballistic missile-related locations. The attack killed military commander General Hossein Salami and scientists involved in nuclear development, and injured dozens of civilians. On June 14, strikes continued on oil and gas facilities. In response, Iran launched ballistic missiles at major Israeli cities such as Tel Aviv, escalating the military exchange.

Prime Minister Netanyahu justified the attack by claiming it was “an imminent and existential threat to Israel’s survival” and labeled it an act of “self-defense.” He also stated that operations would continue “until the threat is eliminated.”

But is the situation truly an “imminent threat” because of Iran’s uranium enrichment? While it’s true that Iran has increased its stock of highly enriched uranium, no international authority has confirmed that it has reached weapons-grade levels.

Iran has been negotiating since April with the U.S. Trump administration to reach an agreement limiting its nuclear program in exchange for lifting economic sanctions. The sixth round of talks was scheduled for June 15 in Oman. Israel’s attack, coming right before this, effectively wrecked the talks and heightened tensions with Iran.

The U.S. Bears Great Responsibility

Regarding Israel’s attack, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio emphasized that it was a unilateral action by Israel and that the U.S. was not involved. However, Israel claims it had informed the U.S. in advance. If the U.S. truly wanted to stop the attack, it could have done so. In fact, Trump praised the attack as “wonderful,” justifying it as “an act of self-defense.”

For the U.S., Israel has long served as a keystone for maintaining hegemony in the Middle East. While the U.S. provides Israel with extensive military aid as a nuclear-armed nation, it imposes strict economic sanctions on Iran to prevent nuclear development and supports Israel’s brutal repression of the Palestinian people.

For Netanyahu, the military weakening of Hezbollah and the Houthis—Islamic militant groups backed by Iran—presented an opportunity to topple the Iranian government. He launched the attack with that goal in mind. The U.S. bears responsibility for Israel’s large-scale attack on Iran.

Workers Must Oppose Imperialist Power Struggles

Following Israel’s attack, Iran declared that negotiations with the U.S. were “futile” and made clear that it would not continue the talks. Israel’s actions have exacerbated tensions in the Middle East and may accelerate Iran’s nuclear development.

Workers must resolutely denounce Israel’s attack on Iran. But this does not mean siding with Iran. Iran, as an Islamic theocratic state, also represses class-based labor movements and is itself a nation vying for regional hegemony against Israel and the U.S.

What workers aim for is a society without class, exploitation, or discrimination—a global society founded on the cooperation and solidarity of workers across all borders.



¡Condena al ataque israelí contra Irán!

En medio de una escalada regional, Israel ha lanzado un ataque aéreo contra instalaciones en territorio iraní. Esta agresión representa una grave amenaza a la paz y la estabilidad en Medio Oriente, y debe ser firmemente condenada por la comunidad internacional.

Israel afirma actuar en defensa propia, en respuesta a las provocaciones de Irán. Sin embargo, tales acciones no hacen sino aumentar la tensión en la región y acercar el conflicto a una guerra total. Este tipo de ataques unilaterales solo benefician a los intereses del militarismo y del imperialismo.

El pueblo trabajador del mundo debe alzar su voz contra este acto de agresión y exigir un alto a las hostilidades. La única salida real es a través de la solidaridad internacional de los pueblos oprimidos y la lucha contra las potencias imperialistas que perpetúan estos ciclos de violencia.

Condamnation de l’attaque israélienne contre l’Iran !

Dans un contexte d'escalade régionale, Israël a mené une attaque aérienne contre des installations situées sur le territoire iranien. Cette agression constitue une grave menace pour la paix et la stabilité au Moyen-Orient, et doit être fermement condamnée par la communauté internationale.

Israël affirme agir en légitime défense, en réponse aux provocations iraniennes. Cependant, ces actions ne font qu’accroître les tensions dans la région et rapprocher le conflit d’une guerre totale. De telles attaques unilatérales ne servent que les intérêts du militarisme et de l’impérialisme.

Les peuples travailleurs du monde entier doivent élever la voix contre cet acte d’agression et exiger la fin des hostilités. La seule véritable issue réside dans la solidarité internationale des peuples opprimés et la lutte contre les puissances impérialistes qui entretiennent ces cycles de violence.
